Spa Packages: The Best Spa Packages

My sister is eloping in October. I am helping to pay for her shower, and I am also going in a spa gift certificate for her with two of her friends. I have also got her a few little things. My question is, how much of a wedding gift should I give? I dont have a large budget and as I said I am helping to pay for her shower. She is also not having a bachlorette. So I dont know what to do exactly……….what is appropriate for the shower gift and what is for the wedding……..
I guess I should have mentioned that she is having a wedding dinner when she comes back from eloping in Hawaii,my father is paying.

I just add up what I can afford, and split it inbetween all the gifts, the biggest being the wedding present. Though some people like to spend more on the shower gift, since that is being opened publicly, everyone can see what is is, it is up to you.
Another thing I would take into consideration is the fact that she is eloping. Unless there is to be a celebration later, there is not dinner, band, cake, decorations etc that the bride is having to purchase.
Give a gift from your heart, something she really needs, or wants. And take her financial situation into account, as well as yours. Is she really strapped for cash? Keep the gifts practical, useful. I’d kill for a coffee pot right now, if she and hubby do not have one, and drink coffee, get one and maybe put in a small gift certificate to the grocery, or a specialty coffee store to buy coffee. For the shower, maybe her clothes closet is a litle sparse. A nice nightgown or pj set would be a big help.
To summarize, perhaps something for the wedding around the price of a small appliance[think nice blender] and something around the price of a pretty nighty for the shower.
Some cute ideas I have seen: for someone who has never been out on their own, one lady bought a big clothes basket, and filled it with laundry items, soap, color safe bleach, spray and wash, etc. Another bought all metal bakeware:cookie sheet, 13×9 cake pan, loaf pan, etc. Another, the same thing, but in glass, round and square casseroles, etc.. Another bought kitchen necessities, 1 and 2 cup pyrex measures, dry measures, a ring of small measures, etc. Another bought a clock, and a gift card to buy more for the rest of the house. Another, a box full of kitchen gadgets. A set of storage cotainers, like those ones that fold up, big and small. A friend was a Tupperware salesperson, and would always ask what the bride wanted from the catalogue.
Hope this helps.

To start with "ELOPING" is meant to be a wedding where no one knows you’re getting married, so no gifts are expected. Your sister seems to want to have her cake and eat it too. No Wedding reception, no gifts, it’s that simple.
If she wants gifts too, then she and her intended should think about having a small wedding with a small reception. THEY don’t have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to have a small reception, just a few friends and family, in someones home, where the food is prepared by the family members. This way she can have her cake and eat it too. To expect gifts when there will be no"invites to the wedding". It’s not done, that’s pure greed. Sorry !but she needs someone to tell her and her fiance this.

They say every working person should give $50.00 as a wedding gift. However, if you are struggling, and need the $50.00 for bills, then just don’t do it. Or get something really cool, really cheap at a discount store or yard sale. I would never expect anyone, even a sister to have to get me a present if doing so would hurt them financially.

Depends on your budget. Give 10% of you pay.
