Tipping etiquette for spa day?

Tomorrow I have a spa day booked. I am getting a massage, facial, mani and pedi.
All of those services came together in a "package" that I received as a gift for Christmas – it’s advertised as a "Relaxation Package".

I’m sure it will be different people providing each of the services, and I was wondering a) if I tip, then b) how much? I think the package cost about $200 bucks all together – however, it was a gift, so I’m not sure how to go about tipping??

Thanks in advance :)

For spas the average tipping is a bit under 10%. I have numerous friends who are massage therapist and they’ve never gotten $40 on a $200 bill. Maybe on 5th Ave.

You really can do it either way. If someone is particularly good, you can ask for individual envelopes for the different people. Then you can leave extra for one person. I usually do that b/c I consider the massage way more important than the overpriced manicure to begin with. I would put a $5 in the envelope for mani/pedi and more for the massage/facial (which is often the same person but took much longer of their time than mani/pedi). If you just leave one envelope, it will be split equally between the different people.

Hope this helps!

Give each technician 5 – 10 dollars. Just like you would your hairdresser.

You can tip when you pay for the package- generally 15-20%. The spa people can split it accordingly.

Tip on your way out the door. The lady at the front counter will put it into the pool and those techs. will split it among themselves. Tip what you feel is right. Generally, 10 to 20% is the norm.
