Special mothers day getaways in california?

I am trying to find somewhere non-traditional for my wife. Life the theater, spas, cruise, or 2day vacation package for $200 and less.

A few suggestions:

1. A Bay Cruise. There are several companies offering cruises in San Diego. Some include dinner and others do not. For more info: http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/San-Diego-cruises.html

2. Temecula Wine Tasting Trip. There are more than 25 wineries in Temecula, about an hour north of San Diego. This can be a fun day trip or weekend getaway. For more info:

3. Visit the historic town of Julian. This gold rush town has cute shops, apple pies, bed and breakfast inns, hiking, and wine tasting. For more info: http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/julian-winery-tour.html

I think you have already answered your own question. Something that your wife would probably enjoy more than anything would be a session at a local day spa. Several day spas offer 2- 4 hour packages that include a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure, etc in the price range (and less) you indicated. Several also have Sunday hours, but an advance reservation is required. It will relax and refresh her, and make her feel pampered. Afterward a nice Dinner / Supper to cap off the day.
