I HATE my new haircut, is the salon responsible?

I got a great full-package gift certificate for my 30th birthday for a mani-pedi, haircut & style and spa facial. When I went in to get my haircut, the stylist was very unfriendly, hardly said 2 words to me the whole time, and I ended up with a haircut I hate and didn’t ask for. I had long hair which had layers but they were almost all grown out, so i told her I wanted a v-cut in the back and the sides in long chunky layers. After she cut it, she flat ironed it. When she as done, she didn’t even turn me around so I could see the back, she just took the apron off and started putting her stuff away and I was checking out the front in the mirror and she didn’t say ANYTHING! Not, "how do you like it?" or "is there anything else you want me to do?" NOTHING! So, when I got home I looked at the back with a mirror and the so-called v-cut is hardly a v shape, more like a scraggly "u" with uneven pieces and it’s all very misshapen. The "long chunky layers" I wanted in front are about cheek level and way too short and uneven also, and they don’t do anything, they just sorta hang there in my eyes and are driving me NUTS! All in all, I got a shitty haircut and now I know I should have insisted on looking at the back before I left and I’m kicking myself for not. She even got a tip and that really pisses me off too. Now I have to pin my hair up to even look decent. Should I call her, the salon, or take my loss and never go back there? I think she should know what a piss-poor job she did. Her unfriendliness, at the least, should be addressed. Right?!!

yeah you should totally complain but an advice: don’t let her to fix your hair. she already messed it up..

i’m so sorry, i understand you cause it’s happened to me. and hair is important..

you should go to ANOTHER salon and get it fixed. do you know any good salons? if not, here’s what you should do…: go to a fancy salon (yeah, you should spend money, it’s hair! very VERY important) and go to get JUST A BLOWER and if you like the guy and everything then you get an appointment fot a haircut.
while you’re getting the blower, make sure that you tell him that your hair has been messed up, so that he can tell you his personal ideas of fixing it (and that’s how you’ll know if you like him or not)

that’s what i do and it WORKS yeah it really does!!!!!

i hope this really can help you and things get better!

Oh my goodness – this sounds like you had a horrible experience!

    Definitely complain.
The stylist was not proffessional at all, and doesn’t deserve the satisfaction of getting away with it.

Good luck, I hope all goes well for you! (:

Hey! I got my hair colored once, I was trying to go bright blonde and she put in a few highlights and charged me like $130 I came out and my sister is like "your done? it doesnt look any different at all" i was so upset that i had just blown that much money and didnt look any different it just so happened that while i was getting it done i asked my hairdresser what would happen if somebody was unhappy with their hair and she said that most hair salons have some sort of policy regardng that, they’ll either give you your money back, they’ll fix it if they can, or they’ll give you a discount or you next service free, whatever way you go they should have some sort of policy that will help you out, i mean you paid for something and you dont like it….you held up your end of the deal and they didnt…thats not fair. Call the hairdresser that did it and talk to her.. I know its hard and u feel like a bitch but its so worth it..I did this and went back and she did my hair the way i wanted it in the first place and didnt skimp on the coloring this time! Good luck!

I suggest the next time you get your hair done, show them photos and explain yourself very detailed. Reguardless of hoe rude they are, communication is everything. But your better off going back and asking for the manager and complaining and have them fix your hair.

I had the same thing happen to me before, the stylist didn’t even speak to me and didn’t even look at the picture i brought along to show what i wanted. I told her exactly how i wanted and she totally messed it up!
i would suggest that you ring up the salon and tell them about it and maybe you could get refunded or even get it fixed for free.
    hope ive helped :]

I think your worried about it too much. Some hair dressers are like that and if you didn’t like her don’t go back. Also, I don’t think a "V" cut is supposed to be a V exactly. It’s just a term for the back beign shorter than the front. She did sound rude so if that really bothered you call and let her manager know.. that’s probably all you can do at this point. You could of done more at the time and maybe had her cut it better to your liking.
